Closed String Staircases
The closed string staircase, unlike the cut string Staircase, has a closed string and treads are not visible from the side. It can be made by using Softwood treads and Plywood or MDF risers for full carpeting and painting or alternatively with hardwood treads and risers to be polished as the remainder of the stairs.
As with the Cut String Staircase, this type can be used for any design: straight, spiral, helical; as simple or as elaborate as required.
